Vampires or werewolves?
In the story of this sequel to the blockbuster movie Twilight, say goodbye to the cold ones - the vampires; say hello to a new kind of monster, the werewolves.
First off, salute to the director of the movie. Chris Weitz proved himself worthy of a film like this, a film that contains animations. The fight scenes of the wolves Paul and Jacob is fantastic. The scene where Jacob climbed up and down the window of Bella is really cool and it's one of the best scenes in the movie. The scene when Edward was beaten up by the men of the Vulturi's is also fantastic. The make-ups and animation for that particular scene is quite excellent. Also, the screenplay of the movie is better than the first movie Twilight. The sequence and the movement of the movie from one scene to another is good.
New moon gives the audience a reason to laugh because of Jacob and some other new characters. I would say that the only good actors in the movie are Jacob, Aro, and Jane. Taylor Lautner proved that he truly is the best pick to play the newly transformed werewolf Jacob Black. He acts very well and portrayed that happy, filled with sense of humor, but troubled Jacob Black. Michael Sheen brought to life the character of Aro and he did it very well. He is probably the best actor in the movie. You couldn't help but hate him and at the same time, respect him. Jane on the other hand, even though she appeared at the end of the movie, gave justice to Jane. She is not only the perfect fit for the role since she is small and young, but also, she is powerfully the Jane you could read in the book.
All the others aside from the three needs improvement in their acting ability. Kristen Stewart for instance, needs to know how to cry and convince people that she is actually crying already. Robert Pattinson should stop knitting his eyes to show emotions as it's distracting. He's showing too much face instead of emotions.
For those who read the book, for sure, they expect more from every important scenes. For example, when Jane was trying to make Bella fell pain but she couldn't, the movie did not show her anger. Aro cut her right away instead, and that's not excellent.
The ending of the movie is quite lame. Aside from poor acting, it did not complement the title of the movie. It was supposed to be a movie about Jacob Black, but the ending kind of stated that it is about the hansome god Edward.
Overall, the movie is fine especially if you did not read the book.
