My Name Is Khan

Movie Review   by:iSamrat

Rizvan Khan(Shah Rukh Khan) is a victim of Asperger’s syndrome and is unable to interact with people and express his love. The character of Khan in the movie can be compared to that of Forrest Gump. As a child, Rizwan grows up in Mumbai, India. Later, as an adult Rizwan, like thousands of other Muslim Indians leave for the US to pursue a happier life.

In San Fransico,USA Rizwan meets Mandira(Kajol), a Hindu girl and he falls in love with her. Mandira is a single divorced mother. They get married and are just beginning to have a happy life when the consequences of 9/11 hit them hard. They face the worst of tragedies, just because they are Muslims.

‘MY NAME IS KHAN’ is a great movie with a great plot. The movie has endorsed elments of humor, love, tragedy and inspiration into one fun package. The movie has portrayed the sad scenario for innocent muslims in the post-9/11 US. Directed by Karan Johar, this movie also became controvertial in India just a few days before its grand release. This movie was well recieved in many countries including Germany, UAE, Nepal, etc.

The actors have done an excellent job in the movie. Both Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have performed very well. The six songs of the movie have been perfectly synchronized with the plot. This movie is just another indication that Bollywood movies can have great and unique plots. I would rate the movie as a five-out-of-five.
