After ‘Hey Baby’ Sajid Khan has brought us his second directorial venture. This also stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Seeing the trailer one may think it’s a full on entertainer, but all hopes of that person gets shattered when he/she watches the movie. The movie entertains in some of the countable scenes only. The movie shows that the director has overworked on some scenes like the one in which Akshay and riteish get electric shock, that sequence could have been shorter. Moreover the other comic scenes were also not new. Unlike ‘Hey Baby’ this movie doesn’t have a proper storyline.
The story is about Arush (Akshay Kumar) who is a loser. Being jinxed he believes that his bad luck can vanish if he finds the true love of his life. Unfortunately his love interest Pooja (Malaika Arora Khan) leaves him and depressed Arush goes to live with his friend Bob (Riteish Deshmukh). In his quest for true love how one lie leads to another resulting in total chaos is what Housefull is all about.
This movie only has glamour. The music is also foot tappy and the biggest plus point is the performance. Akshay Kumar, like always has delivered a pleasant performance. Riteish Deshmukh has also shown himself as the king of comedy. Arjun Rampal was good. Jiah Khan did not have much scope. Deepika and Lara were lovely. Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani and Chunkey Pandey were fine.
On the whole Housefull is nothing new. The movie if watchable if you are a big fan of it’s star cast.
