Takers

Movie Review   by:ReaditDiva

Hollywood makes being bad look good. In the real world, men who rob banks are called hardened criminals and spend hard time in prison. But in the movie, Takers, naughty is the new nice. In this fast-paced action film, a gang of slick, designer suit wearing Los Angeles bank robbers plan to pull off the ultimate multimillion-dollar heist.

“We’re takers, gents. That’s what we do for a living. We take.” – Idris Elba in Takers

Idris Elba (from Obsessed) sporting a British accent, leads this gang of high-class thieves, including Hayden Christensen (from Star Wars), Michael Ealy (from Seven Pounds), Paul Walker (from the Fast and the Furious), and Chris Brown (more well-known for the Rihanna scandal than his R&B music). Matt Dillon plays the Los Angeles detective desperately trying to catch these cons. It seems that crime does pay…until the gang’s former leader, Ghost, is released from prison, looking to score another big heist, claim his share of the money from their last big job, and get his old girlfriend back (actress Zoe Saldana from Star Trek). The actor who plays Ghost is no stranger to crime; multi-platinum rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris actually served prison time for a federal weapons conviction. While the plot is somewhat predictable, the film’s intense action scenes make it a movie worth watching. Note to parents: this film is rated PG-13, but it contains profanity, violence, sex, and nudity. Run time 1 hour 47 min.

In Takers, a whole gang of thieves gets all the action, but in the movie Salt, Angelina Jolie kicks butt all by herself! (see link below).
