This film tells about Empire of England in 1558’s which leaded by a woman, Elizabeth’s Queen. Elizabeth is still being pressured to marry by her advisor, Walshingham, because she is in aging years and she didn’t married yet.
Walter Raleigh come to Elizabeth’s palace, he is an adventurer and having returned from new world. He offers some of the new world’s riches : potatoes, tobacco, gold and two Indian from America. Elizabeth interest with Walter. She becomes enormous with his explanation about new world and she ask her most favored lady-in-waiting, Bess, to observe him. Unfortunately Bess also fell that Raleigh an attractive man and secretly begins an affair with the explorer. When Elizabeth with her astrologer, Dr. John Dee, predicted that two empires will go to war but can’t predicted which will be a winner.
In London, a Jesuit group conspires with Philip to assassinate Elizabeth and replace her on the throne with Queen of Scouts, Mary. Mary sends secret letter from Fotheringhay Castle to Thomas Babington to assassinate Elizabeth. Walshingham continues to warn Elizabeth of Spain’s rising power and of the Catholic’s plot against her life. The conspiring against Elizabeth are being hunted and murdered including Bess’s cousin. Walshingham’s brother is a Papist who knows of the plot against Elizabeth. He reveals the plot to Elizabeth, who angrily confronts the Spanish diplomats. The Spanish ambassador accuses Elizabeth receiving Spanish gold from pirates and have a sexual relationship with Raliegh. Queen become angry and nearly a sword fight ensues between Elizabeth and Spanish Ambassador.
Mary writes a letter condoning the plot. Anthony Babington attack into cathedral where Elizabeth is praying. Elizabeth learns of mary’s involvement, and Walsingham insists she be executed to quell any possible English Catholic revolt. Philip had planned on handing the throne over to his young daughter, Isabella, with Mary dead. Its Philip’s Approval to go to war.
In England, Raliegh asks to leave for the new world, which Elizabeth forbids, instead him and making him Captain. Bess pregnant with Raliegh. After she talk to Raliegh, he chooses not to and married with Bess in secret. After Elizabeth had known Bes condition she angry and chasing away Bess from her court. At the same ti, Walshingham arranges his brother and release him.
The Spanish Armada begins its approach up the English Channel, and Elizabeth forgives Bess and ask Reliegh to join in the attack on the Armada. Elizabeth gives her Speech to the troops. The Spanish’s Armada too much and its outnumber with English armada. Reliegh give an idea to burn English Armada and let the Armada destroy the Spanish Armada’s Formation. Finally this idea run successfully and Spain beated back.
In the films end, Elizabeth visits Walsingham and telling to take a rest. Then she visits Raleigh and Bess and blesses their child. Elizabeth is the Virgin Queen and mother of England people.
