On the other side of the world, Marie (Cecile de France), a French
journalist who was nearly dead in Tsunami disaster has made her realize that
there is a place where the spirit goes and she calls it as ‘Hereafter’. That fact
shakes her reality, makes her obsessed about the afterlife, and forces her to
drop out of her job. She then becomes a writer who writes a story about the
place where people go after they die, ‘Hereafter’. And one day, she finally has
a book launch in London.
The last person is Marcus (Frankie Mc Laren), a London
schoolboy who loses his closest person, his older brother, Jason (George Mc
Laren). He wants to see his brother again. Therefore, he starts to look for a
paranormal that is able to communicate with spirit. However, his searching does
not go well until he meets George in London and asks George to do the reading
for him.
In London, they all meet and their lives intersect; the
searching of the truth of ‘Hereafter’. A movie by Clint Eastwood, it is quite
interesting. For about 2 hour duration, this movie is quite boring at the
beginning because the story jumps from one character to the other. I think
their meeting should have been earlier, thus the story of the interconnected lives could have been more entertaining.
