This old movie is about the Bureau of Prohibition agent, Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner), who initially wanted to enforce the rules which time alcoholic beverages are prohibited. But it was Al Capone (Robert De Niro) - Chicago gangster-and mayor of Chicago who are already in hand, providing low-quality liquor at high prices. After the first trial Ness failed, he then met with Jimmy Malone (Sean Connery), a cop who has the same vision and recruit two trainee police loyal person is George Stone / Giuseppe Petri and Oscar Wallace.
Then they conduct a raid on a post office where liquor is stored. Then Wallace informs Ness that Al Capone did not file income tax returns in four years. Ness then visited by council members who tried to bribe him, but it does not work, even thrown out. Because Ness et al can not be bought or "touched" by bribery, they became known as "The Untouchables".
Of rejection, Ness began terrorized life, from his family eventually moved to be safe, then the murder of Wallace who is also an accountant at the police station, to murder Malone at his home after he knew about Al Capone's accountant, namely Walter Payne. Yet Malone still can survive until Ness and Stone came and told the train that will be ridden by Payne.
At the railway station, Payne guarded by many guards gangsters. But Ness and Stone finally able to get rid of all the guards and took Payne safely and Capone was brought to court. But when the trial even though Payne expose all evil Capone, but Capone and Ness relaxed look that is always with Nitti Capone, bringing a weapon into court. Then Ness and chase Nitti and found the note is written that all the jury brought in the courts had been bribed Capone. When Ness took the paper before the judge, the judge ignored it because Nitti was already dead. But Ness bluffing that there is a judge's name in the financial books Payne in official prize. Not wanting to be branded corrupt judge asked the jury to be replaced eventually. Then the Capone's Lawyer finally gave up and locked up Capone in jail.
In general, this movie is good, a lot of action in it wouldn't easily bored. Ness turns down an offer to speak to a reporter wanting to speak to
him. When the reporter mentions that Prohibition is due to be repealed
and asks what Ness might do then, Ness responds, "I think I’ll have a
drink.". The moral message is although he like something, when it was forbidden, he would enforce the rule.
Overall 8.5/10
