The Philly Kid

Movie Review   by:Dev25

This is a story of a champion (Dillon) of NCAA wrestling and his fight to save his present from his past.

Dillon finds himself in a situation which leads him to 10 years of imprisonment. He survived a near death call during this and finds a friend who saves him that day. Years later he get his chance to pay-back. In order to do so, he had to go for a wrestling fight where big fishes makes the calls. One of them being the former police officer whose partner gets killed on the same fateful night.

Dillon did not want any part of it and was determined to be out of it after three fights. But to survive he had to fight, lose, save his friends and above all protect someone he cares for.

The movie had a good pace and jumps right to the topic. The movie is meant to be for action and it provides with some good fighting sequences. Wes Chatham did a decent job and was a good choice for the role. Adam Mervis also acted in the movie and was not that bad either. But like I said, since it was an action based movie you cannot expect much of an performance apart from the fight sequences.

All in all its a good movie to watch with the family however if you have watched the Cinderella Man or Million Dollar Baby, chances are, that you will not like it. But if you are an action movie lover like me, its worth a watch!

Enjoy.
