A Man Apart a good action thriller. Movie has a simple story line but presented in a well timed and paced way.
A good DEA cop, Sean Vetter, makes a move against the drug lord and arrests him. This good deed leads him to draw swords against a new enemy who kills his wife and take over the business again. Sean works his way up from the bottom not only to take revenge but also to do his job.
This movie was earlier named as Diablo by New Line Cinema. However, its similarity with a PC game lead to the court after which New Line Cinema changed its title.
Van Diesel played the role of Sean Vetter and was the best fit for the character. Though not much action is seen in this movie as his other movies like F&F series. Timothy Olyphant, played the character of a transporter. As per me he did a descent job here which must have landed him on Die Hard 4.0 (2007) and Hitman (2007).
F. Gary Gray, Director, has definitely left his mark as he did in Italian Job(2003) and later on in Law abiding citizen(2009). One can see his mark getting more better and prominent over the years.
The writer(s) Paul Scheuring (creator of Prison Break) and Christian Gudegast made this simple story which have been told many times over in an interesting watch with twists and well placed characters.
The getup and location were good and it's all together an interesting movie to watch.
