Zindagi Na
milegi dobara has done to me what numerous motivational workshops haven’t achieved
for me all these days. The biggest mood lifter of the year, this bollywood
flick is a collector's delight.
The plot is about three friends who meet together
after a long time gap and go for a trip to Spain. While people may draw
parallel to Dil Chahtha hai, ZNMD handles a completely definite theme with a
more mature set of characters.
The three characters in the film have their own fears
and weak points in life and the film shows how each of them deal with them.
Hrithik as the white collared professional
obsessed with his career, excels in portraying the character.Farhan as Kabir
keeps the otherwise slow paced movie, peppered with funny one liners and quips.
Bobby Deol has carved a niche in Bollywood and he sure does have a bright path
ahead.Katrin looks great when paired with Hrithik. Kalki gets in the skin of
the role which requires here to be intrusive and irritating.
The film is a must see for everyone out there and
is sure to make one see life in a lighter vein and enjoy petty things in life.
The scene in which the trio spends time in a bar where they imitate the
Doordarshan tune is hilarious. The movie is a visual treat, the entire film
having been shot in picturesque landscapes.
The music is superb, which dominates the channels
till now. The number "Senorita" is a sort of jugal bandhi of Hindustani
with Spanish and is extremely likeable. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy , the inseparable trio weaves
magic to the plot through the lingering music.
Zoya Akhtar has proved that art is part of her DNA
and has certainly met the expectation that people had on her. One looks forward
to more from her in the years ahead.
