Review: The Hunger Games DVD/Blue Ray Release
Last week it finally arrived the date for the release of The Hunger Games DVD/Blue Ray. A huge buzz has been around this release thanks to the huge success of the screen adaptation of Suzanne Collin's masterpiece and New York Time Best seller with the same name.
The DVD/Blue Ray itself does not have anything special. A regular box with 2 disc (Movie and Special Features). As a consumer I was expecting something more... something to make the purchase unique and worthy. On Walmart a special edition was released with the famous "Mockingjay Pin" featured in both movie and book. But that was no news for the fans.. since the pin was already available in the market and for a very good price.
The special content falls directly into the Special Features Disc. You are introduce into the whole BackStage process, special effects,information about the project and how began. Not to mention, interviews with cast and crew. In my opinion, nothing to get excited about. I was kind of hopping to get REALLY special material. Instead I got interviews that were already aired on E! or even YouTube.
The disc with the movie has a couple of trailers... probably the attention was supposed to go around the Breaking Dawn Part 2 trailer, however it wasn't a new one.. so it really made no difference.
Good set up with a different options for Languages and Subtitles. The resolution is very good.. specially on the Blue Ray version.
Overall.. It could've been better. Extra material of the actual movie at least. A few deleted scenes appear as extra material but not in the actual movie.
For a regular user would be a regular purchase. For a fan.. a disappointment.
