Ek Tha Tiger- Movie Review

Movie Review   by:puja

A love story under the Yash Raj
Banner, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has been produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Kabir
Khan. The Screenplay is by Kabir Khan and Neelesh Misra. The original story is
written by Aditya Chopra. The main stars are Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
supported by Ranvir Shorey, Roshan Seth and Girish Karnad.

It is the love story of a spy who
has to choose between his love and duty. It tells the story of two spy’s,
Katrina playing Zoya who is a Muslim and Salman Khan, Avinash (his real name in
the film), a Hindu agent called the Tiger. Tiger is sent by Shenoy, his boss to
go to Dublin, Ireland and observe a scientist Kidwai (Roshan Seth) of Indian
origin. He does not meet the scientist, but Zoya, the scientist’s caretaker.
Tiger gets attracted towards Zoya. After some ‘love birdy kind of ched-chaad’
Zoya also accepts his love. But when they come face to face with each other’s
reality, they are hurt and terrified about their unison as it involves two
politically controversial nations. There is also deceit in friendship between
Tiger and Gopi. Gopi seems to be in love with Zoya and when he comes to know

about she is reciprocating her love to Tiger, he attempts to kill him by
joining hands with his enemies.

But they say, ‘Maarne wale se
bachane wala zyada taakatwar hota hain’. It is a Hindi proverb meaning ‘who has
to live will live however one tries to kill him’. In this context the duties of
the lead actors are their enemies but the love that exists between them is
their savior.

Being an inter-religion and a spy
love story, it has been a great success. The lead actors are the biggest
attraction of the film.

The music and its background
score by the trio Sohail Sen, Saijid Wajid, and Julius Packiam is very
hummable. The song, ‘Maash-Allah, Maash-Allah chehra hain maash-allah’ is
rocking the musical channels of radio and discotheques.
