The real life, love story of
Genelia D’Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh was released in theatres as ‘Tere Naal
Pyaar Ho Gaya’. The movie is directed by Mandeep Kumar.
It is the story of a submissive
boy, Viren, who wants to start his own business and hence joins working in a travel
agency run by Bhatti played by Tinu Anand. Bhatti is looking for a groom for
his bubbly, naughty daughter, Mini. Bhatti embezzles with Viren’s money who
then decides to seek revenge from him. One day Viren in a boozed state of mind confronts
Bhatti. Mini is not keen in getting married and takes advantage of this
confrontation between her father and Viren. She escapes with Viren and it
appears that she has been kidnapped by him.
The phase of running away of
Viren and Mini for their own selfish reasons, find each other getting attracted
to one another. Viren lives away from his family as his father is a greedy
dominating person. When Mini asks Viren to meet his parents, he visits them
reluctantly. Viren’s father’ role is played by Om Puri, who is the ‘Chaudhuri’
of the village. This story changes Viren and his father’s relationship for the
good and the comic scenes between Om Puri, Viren, Mini and his mother are
really ‘enjoyable’.
In the end, Bhatti also realises his
mistake and returns Viren’s mother by giving his daughter to him.
The Punjabi music and traditional
dresses make the movie colorful. The direction is also good. It is a light,
romantic comedy with the actors doing good work.
