Ranbir Kapoor in his short span in Bollywood has learned the art of choosing the right roles for him.he is fast gorwing in stature in the industry and is slowin but surely giving aches to the top actors of the industry. In Burfi he plays the lead character who is a deaf mute. Ranbir has done more than reasonable justice to the character and has given one of his best performances till date. Anurag basu in his maiden venture as a director has been able to extract the best out of Ranbir. Illeana D'cruz it a heart trobof south. She has a huge fan following in tollywood. she plays a role of a high class teenage girl, who is the initial love interest of Ranbir. she is sizziling in her bengali saree later in the film. Though not the leading lady of the movie, she can not be ignored in the movie. Priyanka chopra is the leading lady of the movie and she plays the role of a autistic girl who falls in love with Burfi. though the movie claims that autism is not synonymous with mental retardation, Prianka has been portrayed as an mentally retarded child with no eye contact being the only sign of autism in her. A moderately mentally retarded girl would have justified the acting of Priyanka. Basu has over cooked the autism meal and is probably the only lacunae of the movie. nevertheless Priyanka acting skills cannot be questioned.All in all Burfi is an out and out entertainer for the entire family and a must watch movie for all.on a scale of 5, i would rate this 4 and1/2. 1/2 less for having overcooked the autism character.
