The phenomenon of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera or how the values change.
Let us go back few years ago when both Britney and Christina were about eighteen years old and were just trying to make their way through up to the stars. They have always been rivals and though Aguilera''s talent is more more outreaching Britney''s the latter has always been ahead in terms of popularity. Until recently.
The girls were always opposing each other. While Britney was praised by her Mom and puritan society dreaming to go back to the ancient family values as "the last virgin of America" Christina was desperately trying to create an image of a rotten and bold girl.
Britney was smiling innocently and claiming in all the interviews that her husband will be her first man. Justin Timberlake was made fun of by his friends, however was ready to make Britney''s wish come true. Christina claimed that she had her first sexual experience as soon as she turned eighteen and then was eager to "get the energy out of men".
Britney''s videos are shown all over the world, Christina''s are forbidden in a number of Aisian countries as too dissolute.
As the girls were growing up and getting out of their childish images Christina''s open photo sessions were top search on Internet while Britney''s producers were trying to find a new sexy image for her (Boys, I am a slave for you, Toxic), but even in this videos Britney looks chaste and innocent.
Then Britney''s first drunk marriage comes up. The scandal died as soon as it started while Britney got divorced on the next morning and was repenting what she had done. America has forgiven her. Finally she meets the man of her dream (Kevin Federlein) and marries him. She is not confused by the fact that Kevin already has two small kids whom he gives up for her. She is in love.
Christina also get married to Jordan Bratman. And everything changes...
Britney and her husband constantly make the top headlines of the yellow press and tabloids. He is drinking, abusing drugs, having affairs. She is pregnant, histerical, kicks him out of the house a number of times. Finally she divorces Kevin and gets into heavy drinking. She stops talking to her adorable Mother, forbids her to see the kids, goes through a rehabilitation course, makes great friends with Paris Hilton and gets almost deprived of parental custody. She used to be "the last virgin of America" and now she is a sample of what a girl should not be. What a joke!
And what about "rotten" Christina? She is happily married, true to her husdand, does not shock the public anymore and is expecting a baby. She even stopped her touring around the world putting pregnancy and family above all.
So is everything gold that glitters? Are the good girls as good as they seem and the bad ones as bad as they appear? This is rather a rhytorical question...
