Eurovision 2o12

Article Review   by:SM THOMPSON

BBC radio 2 were chatting today about the Eurovision Song Contest and the interview was full of
enthusiastic comments on Eurovision and chatted to Dana Ireland winner and Clodagh Rogers
competitor and they had a lot to say on the UKs entry for 2O12 Engelbert Humperdink who at 76
is chosen to represent the UK tomorrow night. There are also vintage ladies in the competition
an entry too who look as young as they feel.

However, the past stars of the Eurovision voiced concern about the voting regulations and feel that it is
discriminatory and therefore excludes some competitors from winning.

There is a lot of gloss and floss attached to the Eurovision and I read online that Spain has been
advised not to win as should they win they could not afford to host the Eurovision in the future
as they are flat broke ... a sorry tale I feel!

But the Eurovision has dogged my footsteps since childhood and I am the last member of the
team to believe that particpation is what is important and winning is the icing on the cake!

So and so and so on and so forth there seems to be a lot of idle chat and summing it up seems
a futile activity as the big event has yet to come and that's tomorrow night 8 pm on the
26 May 2O12.

I suppose the winners are odds on favourites at the bookies but seems that the Eurovision
comes on simultaneously with The Jubilee so much so that one event might overshadow
the other event leaving events standing idly by in the hope that there will be one major event
which will overtake and capture our whole hearted attention without a shadow of doubt.

So tune into the Eurovision song contest at 8 pm on BBC Radio 2 and listen into the
contestants and wait it out to see who will be the overall winner and lets hope we all
have an enjoyable weekend with lots of sunshine ... thanks BBC Radio 2 team for the update!
