Activision announced today that they were no longer going to continue the development of Guitar Hero for 2011. Sales declining have put a toll on employees for the Guitar Hero Franchise. Five hundred employees have already been laid off. Activision has also put a halt on their true crime: hong kong action game. The most recent Guitar Hero game, Warriors of Rock, failed to ignite the sales charts, and in December 2010, Media giant Viacom sold off Rock Band developer Harmonix. Last week, long time Rock Band publisher, MTV Games, was officially shut down.
