Muktiojoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra comfortably registered their seventh victory in the Citycell Bangladesh League defeating Rahmatganj MFS by 4-1 on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Muktiojoddha, the former Dhaka Premier Division champions, who finished their first leg with only 11 points and were facing relegation, bounced back in the second leg to avoid the relegation comfortably.
By virtue of the seventh win off 21 matches they pushed their collection to 24 points and brighten their chances to claim the fifth position.
However, one of the former local giants Muktiojoddha, took a sweet revenge of their 2-5 first leg defeat at the hands of old Dhaka outfit.
Eugene Gray, scored twice with opening the account in the 21st minute and Tajul made it 2-0 in the 38th minute while Mamun reduced the margin on 41st for Rahmatganj.
But Muktis' Liberian striker doubled his margin the 53rd minute to enlarge the margin to 3-1 and Roni added one to seal the victory for 4-1.
Rahmatganj were still facing relegation threat along with Beani Bazar, Sylhet and Shuktara Jubasangsad, Narayangnaj.
Meanwhile, Soccer Club Feni and Chittagong Mohammedan shared points in the day's another match held at the Feni Stadium.
One of the new comers in the Professional League, Feni Soccer have been performing well at the first appearance in the country's top level soccer. The hosts, who brightened their prospect to claim the fourth position of the Citycell Bangladesh League, leaving behind Brothers Union and other Dhaka teams were forced to share points with visitors Chittagong Mohammedan after a goalless draw.
At the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium, in the day's other match, hosts Shuktara Jubasangsad also made a 0-0 draw with Farashganj Sporting Club to earn a valuable point.
But it was not enough for Shuktara to avoid the relegation threat, although they pushed their tally just one point ahead to Sylhet Beani Bazar managing 15 points.
