This is the story of the Ramayana Story which you can see this performance in Prambanan Temple, Indonesia.
INTRODUCTION
Mantili Kingdom was led by a king named Prabu Janaka. He has a beautiful daughter named Dewi Shinta. The king made a quest to find a husband for his daughter. The one who won the quest is the prince from Ayodya Kingdom named Raden Wijaya. Meanwhile, a king from Alengkadiraja, Prabu Rahwana, want Dewi Shinta to be his wife.
PASEWAKAN ALENGKA
Rahwana held a gathering with Kumbakarno, indrajid and Patih Prahasta, and his people. They're waiting for their king's words. However, suddenly Sarpakenaka, King's brother, came asking for help. He said that there're a knight and beautiful woman in the forest that annoy him. Rahwana got mad and goes to the forest with Kalamarica.
DANDAKA FOREST
Rama Wijaya, the Prince from Ayodya Kingdom, with her wife, Shinta, and Leksmana are in Dandaka Forest.Rahwana
found them and want to make Dewi Shinta to be his wife. He changes one of his soldiers to become a deer. Dewi Shinta saw the deer and want Rama to capture it. Rama chased it, leave Dewi Shinta and Leksmana behind. Dewi Shinta worried because it takes a long time to catch the deer, and she ask Leksmana to find Rama. Before leaves her alone, Leksmana made a magic circle around her to protect her. Rahwana tried to kidnap Dewi Shinta but he can't because of the magic ring. So Rahwana changes himself into an old man. Dewi Shinta feel pity and get out from the magic ring to him to give some money, but Rahwana grab her and fly to Alengka.
RAMA CHASE THE DEER
The deer got the stab from Rama's arrow. The deer changes into big monster, Kalamarica, and there's a fight between them. After Rama defeats Kalamarica, Leksama found him and ask him to go back to Dewi Shinta.
DEWI SHINTA IS GONE
There's intruder on Rahwana ways to bring Dewi Shinta to Alengka. The intruder is a Garuda bird named Jatayu. Jatayu who knows Dewi Shinta wants to help her, but Jatayu defeated by Rahwana. Rama and Leksmana can't find Dewi Shinta, so they go somewhere else to find her. In their way, they met with Jatayu in seriously injured condition. Rama though that Jatayu is the one who kidnaps Dewi Shinta. Rama wants to kill Jatayu but he explains the truth before he dies. Just a second after Jatayu's death, a white mongkey named Hanuman came to help them.
ARGOSOKO PARK
In Alengka Kingdom, Rahwana tried to persuade Dewi Shinta to be his wife. However, she refused and made Rahwana get mad and want to kill her. But he changed his mind. Right after Rahwana leaves her, Hanuman came to Dewi Shinta and tell her that Rama will rescue her. After met Dewi Shinta, Hanumanexplores the Kingdom to find the weakness.. He destroys the park of Alengka Kingdom and Indrajid, the son of Rahwana, caught him and bring him to Rahwana. As the punishment, they burn him. However, Hanuman didn't die and burn the Alengka Kingdom with the fire on his body.
RAMA TAMBAK
After sent Hanuman, Rama Wijaya with monkeys went to dam up the ocean as the only way to Alengka Kingdom.. After
dam up the ocean, Hanuman Came and report the condition of Alengka Kingdom. Rama Wijaya felt glad and sent Hanuman, Anggodo, Anila, and Jembawana to lead the soldiers to attack Alengka.
ENDING
After Rahwana get killed by Rama's arrow and squeezed by Sumawan Mountain, Hanuman escort Dewi Shinta to meet Rama. But Rama refused because he though that Dewi Shinta not a virgin anymore. So Dewin Shinta burned herself to prove him that she still a virgin and she was still alive. In the end they life happily ever after.
