The Pros of Nick Jr.

Personal Experience Review   by:mommyinabox

As a parent its important to start your child/ren off on the right path of education. Having an infant, soon to be toddler at home, i have watched quite a few different television shows for kids. My favorite by far is Yo Gabba Gabba, which is aired on nick jr.
Yo Gabba Gabba teaches your child so many different things, and its done in a very fun, up beat way. DJ Lance Rock, the main character in the show is the "puppet master" of the characters Muno, Fuffa, Brobee, Todee, and Plex. they work together in problem solving when someone gets upset, and show your child the right things to do. This show involves a lot of music to get your child up and moving. they have a lot of special guest from Tony Hawk, Elijah Wood, and even Biz Markey. The biggest perk of this show in my opinion is the fact that they encourage children to build healthy relationships with their friends and family, while teaching them the meaning of emotional expressions.
Dora The Explorer is a big hit with almost every little girl i know. This show is also great, teaches your child about a different language and culture. while singing and dancing to upbeat tunes. They watch Dora go on adventures to help others, while she runs into solely Spanish speaking characters she teaches your child new words.
there are a lot of shows out there now that do promote learning and brain development in a wide range of different ways. There are also shows made for an older audience and parents don't realize that these shows might be delaying the learning process by stimulating the brain too much. A small child watching a high action fast paced show may grow older and have a learning disability because they can not concentrate for long enough periods of time.
