Electronic media is going through a lot of changes of late. Electronic media menas films and television. Earlier there used to be a more money in films than television. This was mainly because there were less T.V. channels and few interesting programs coming on them.
When DTH services came there was a rush of chennels and programs coming on each of them. The competition increased to a great extent just to earn high TRP's. Today the viewers get confused which serial to watch and which to not. Also the channels just abruptly end the on-going serials that the viewers often loose interest. Cricket matches which was once-a-while phenomenon is a pure business gimmick these days. T.V. channels buy satellite rights of movies to be released at very high costs.
With less interesting movies being made these days and the very high costs of multiplexes, people do not go to movies. They prefer watching movies on Television a few months after their release. This is affecting the film business adversely. Moreso, T.V. channels are paying better to the actors/actresses as compared to film actors. Here, i would also like to state that reality cinema is in a poorer state of affairs than commercial films, even when they depict the reality. This is forcing many film actor/actresses to shift to television acting.
Whatever the fact, these changes are positive or negative, it is purely a business gimmick.
