DRINKING WATER:- THE EMERGING TRENDS
By- M.K.BAJPAI (INDIA)
INTRODUCTION
By the year 2025 India will be among 34 countries of the world, which are likely to face severe water scarcity. India estimated to need about 1050 billion cubic metre of fresh water annually by the year 2025, which seems to be quite impossible. Water purification, water conservation and water management are the most alarming problem along with water pollution for water technologists around the globe, thus entire water technology is centralized to minimize the use of water scientifically for various purposes. Water purification is the another important aspect, there are many water purifying devices available in market mostly based on ion exchange, ultra filtration and reverse Osmosis technologies, but still about five million people die annually from water born diseases.
1.MAGNETIC WATER -Along with several unique properties water also conduct electricity and magnetism, thus water acquire magnetic property when kept in contact with magnet for certain time period. Such magnetized water having some medicinal value to combat diseases and disorders is in great demand among western countries as "magnetic water". Water is magnetized artificially by keeping it in contact with desired pole of powerful magnet at least for 12 hours to prepare North pole water, South pole water and mixed water (equal mixture of N-pole S-pole water).
2.MACROBIOTIC HEXAGONAL WATER (VITALIZER)-Hexagonal water is composed of six individual molecules of water held together by common hydrogen bonds forming liquid crystalline Lattice, it is naturally occurs in snow water. This unique structure of water is capable of rapid penetration within the cells with improved cellular communication, intracellular water movement and enzyme functioning. The most recent scientific finding indicates that biological organism prefers hexagonal water, as it is found adhered around healthy cells however abnormal or disease cells are devoid of hexagonal water, thus amount of hexagonal water in body overall delays aging and promotes longevity.
3. THERAPEUTIC WATER/ FORTIFIED WATER:- Hydrotherapy is most effective natural alternative therapy without any side effect, in which almost all body ailments are cured through water. Water due to its universal solvent and nontoxic properties is the only effective cleansing agent as per YOGA system of medicine. Hydrotherapy utilizes water unique ability to store and transmit heat energy. Cold-based hydrotherapies such as ice packs and cold compresses have "Depressant" effect which decreases normal activity, constricting blood vessels, numbing nerves, slowing respiration and reduces B.M.R. (Basal metal rate).
4. WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT & WATER HARVESTING--World at present trying at it’s level best to conserve water by all means, specially through waste water management and harvesting rain water. Modern advanced Effluent treatment plant (ETP) implementation basically in industries are the most effective method of waste water management, ETP technology minimize physical, chemical and microbial contaminant in waste polluted water up to the extend of its utilization for agricultural purpose without any harmful effects. EM Technology (effective micro-organism technology) developed in Japan during 1970 is also very useful in treating sewage water. It is being used in about 150 countries worldwide including India. Gurgaon based company organic solution in of basic promoter of this Eco friendly EM technology.
5. WATER POLLUTION--There are many sources of water pollution. The most common of them are city sewage and industrial waste discharged into rivers. The facilities to treat wastewater are not adequate in any city of India. Presently, only about 10% of the wastewater generated is treated and the rest is discharged as it is into our water bodies, such contaminated water carries disease causing microbes. Agriculture run-off or water from fields is another water pollutant as it contains fertilizers and pesticides. Even today thousands of various industries releasing their waste water in rivers containing numerous harmful chemicals and physical contaminant to pollute water making river water unfit for its utilization for agriculture and drinking purposes. Most of major industries have treatment facilities for industrial effluent, but this is not the case with small scale industries which cannot afford, enormous investments in water pollution control equipment as their profit margin is very slender.
ConclusionAt present, Water- Water pollution is not only disastrous for living beings on Earth but it is also driving aquatic life in great danger, thus if water is the most necessary commodity to survive then on the other hand our future is ensecure mainly due to misuse and mismanagement of water. There is a requirement of comprehensive global approach to tackle the problem of water pollution engulfing thousand of lives annually rather than to develop Nuclear and biological weapons.
