THE ROLE OF SCIENCE IN MODERN WORLD From the early stages of man's existence on this Earth , he has been putting in his efforts to make life more comfortable & worth living.Though now by looking at this modern world we might cofess that the aim has successfully accomplished but still that real purpose have lost it's value in thin air.We are now making attempts to test our knowledge,our skills with the "missions on Mars".Can this be regarded as real achievement?The answer in my opinion is 'no'. It is a point to realise as to how much we are spending to work out with this missions.Instead of this the same could have been used for the benefit of the people of 'Earth'.God has indeed not restricted us to expand our knowledge but we need to put in our own little brain as towards the development of 'Earth' rather than performing our stupidity to convert the barren region of Mars into life. Man has almost poked his intelligence into every point on Earth but due to it's success in every attempt has resulted in neglection of weaker cader of this earth. Science without morals is worthless that is why let humans not forget the real aim of science by their complete indulgence into their mysterious world.

    Where is the Quality Control by Shvoong?

    Shvoong have a good concept in their website, but they should be encouraging higher quality from their contibutors. Shvoong COULD be for information abstracts what Wikipedia is for encyclopedia entries. Shvoong proposes to "include among its pages no more nor less than a synopsis of human knowledge - to serve as a tool that separates the chaff from the wheat... Shvoong wishes to act as a cachet of required information for whomever needs information desperately and does not have a lot of time." This is not happening. Shvoong has a lot of potential, but it is not reaching it at the moment.

    What is this an abstract of?

    Too many abstracts on Shvoong seem to be little more than short essays by people of their own ideas, rather than providing an abstract of an existing published work by another, real-world, author (be it novel, book, magazine article or journal article). Often, like in this "abstract" above, no bibliographic or reference details are given of the original source document which is being summarized (i.e. abstracted). Another common problem is poor writing skills. Before uploading their abstract, people should get a friend to proof-read their writing for any errors.
