The death of the Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston, alerted us once again to this desease that afects more and more adolescents, specially girls.
Anorexia is a
psycological desease with physical and emotional consequences and it is among the more dangerous and fatal psycological deseases, killing between 10% and 20% of the patients. People who are more afected for this desease are intelligent girls from rich families that enjoy pleasing the others with their look. The opinions of people who are close to them are vitally important. The
symptoms are the fear of getting fat, the excessive pratic of physical exercise, irregular or the lack of menstruation, reasoning difficulties, depression, cold, fatigue and death. The anoretic person does not admit that she has the desease and normally there are thier famillies that realise that the problem exists. The treatment is hard because there is not a really eficient technique, but the first step is to see a doctor or a
psychologist, since the desease can actually drive to death. The patient can and should be treated and her/his family should also talk with a psychologist.
