Effects of rolling mode on flow behavior of local texture of 3104 aluminum alloy sheets

Article Abstract by: TsingHua

Original Author: Material Science and Technology
Hot rolled 3104 Aluminum alloy sheet was cold rolled from 2.3mm to 0. 23mm, by conventional rolling, cross shear rolling
and two direction cross shear rolling with a roll mismatch speed ratio 1. 17. Textures distribution through the thickness after conventional rolling, cross shear rolling and two direction cross shear rolling were studied by X - ray diffraction technique ( ODF analysis) . The results showed that the main rolling texture components in cross shear rolling and two direction cross shear rolling is similar to that obtained by conventional one, including Copper-{112} <111 > , Brass-{110} <112> , R/S - {124} <211 > and S-{123} <634 > . Orientation densities ω(g) of main texture components in different layer of conventional rolling have small exchange. Large difference of Orientation densities ω(g) of main texture components existed between the slow roller side and the fast roller in cross shear rolling. For the cross shear rolling, with increase of thickness, the Orientation densities ω(g) showed the near - linear increase, it caused by shear stress during the slow roller side and the fast roller. For the two direction cross shear rolling, there was the different tendency of change for ω(g) though the thickness, ω(g) of main texture components have a little change from the slow roller side (t=0.25) and the fast roller (t=0.75).
