Several models have been discussed in this paper.They include the energy input model,the plastic deformation model of weld metal and the thermo mechanical coupled analysis method of some physical parameter fields during
friction welding process,such as temperature field,stress field and strain field,which are also the difficulties in the
numerical simulation of fiction welding process.The results show that the two dimensional,non steady model with changeable thermal properties has been used in the simulation of physical parameter fields during friction welding process at present.Moreover,the
heat losses through convection and radiation usually be neglected in this model.In addition,the heat flow density at the frictional surface can be calculated according to the variation curve of friction torque or friction coefficient
distribution in the process of welding.The heat flow can be hypothesized linear distribution or uniform distribution at the interface.In recent years,the welding parameters(such as

Welding process can be simulated directly from the properties of the welded material and the welding conditions.Furthermore,two kinds of heat generating mechanisms,which are related to frictional heating and plastic deformation respectively,and their converting rules during friction welding process have also been simulated.
