In this paper,recorrosive property ofNb-base alloy(Nb-1~5Mo-1~3Zr-≤4Ti)used ascorrugate-plate was evaluated by means of weighing,electric
chemistry and active effectiveness of usagefor instrument in chemical engineering,The experimental results were as follows:After thesamples of the alloy had been soaked respectively inseveral mediums(dense acetic acid at 100~126 ℃,sodium hypochlorite,sea water and dry or humidchlorine gas)for 1~2 years,all of them were brightand corrosive spots on them were not discovered.Corrosion rate calculated according to the change of weight was very low(10 ̄(-4)~10 ̄(-5)mm/year).After corrugated membrane of the alloy installed in capsule of differential transformer had been used in abovemedium for 2 years,the surface of the testedmembrane was still bright and corrosive traces on itwere not exhibited. Moreover the precision of thetransformer always remained superior to 0.5 order.Electric chemistry experimentals proved that the Nb-base alloy in medium containing Cl ̄(-) ion possessedvery high bluntness,width of blunt region≥2volt,critical potential of the Nb-base alloy for producingcorrosive spots was higher than 1.7 voIt,and on theNb-base alloy soaking in medium containing Cl ̄(-)ioncould naturally form blunt film. Furthermore,theblunt film could be rapidly repaired by itself afterbeing abrased.
