AIM:To explore the pharmacodynamic effect of bikang wine so as to provide experimental evidence for clinical application.
METHODS:The anti inflammation effect of bikang wine was observed in rats with acute inflammatory reaction caused by carrageenan and
adjuvant;analgesic effect of bikang wine was observed by hot board and acetic acid wrenching body method;meanwhile,the effect of bikang wine on
cyclophosphamide(Cy) rats monocyle phagocytosis,hemolysin antibody production,thymus and spleen index of mice was also observed respectively. RESULTS:Bikang wine could remarkably restrain the acute inflammatory reaction of foot metatarsus tumefaction caused by carrageenan in rats,and the restraining rate(43.7%) had no difference as compared with that of prednisone acetate group(40.1%).Bikang wine had obvious antagonistic effect against the primary and secondary lesion of rats caused by adjuvant arthritis,and could improve pain threshold of mice,with the analgesia rate of 61.6%caused by acetic wrenching body.It also improved the index and activity of phagocytosis of cyclophosphamide(Cy) mouse monocyle phagocyto rsis,restrained hemolysin antibody production,increased normal mouse spleen index,reinforced cyclophosphamide(Cy) mouse auditory tumefaction degree, thymus and spleen index(all P< 0.05 or P< 0.01). CONCLUSION:Bikang wine plays an effective role in resisting inflammatory effect,easing pain and regulating immunological function.
