AIM:To study the effect of Perilla- oil on the blood
pressure in rats which provides well- founded experimental basis for
exploiture of
Perilla- oil. METHODS:Sprague- Dawley rats were divided into 6 groups randomly(n=10):contr ol group,Hypertension model group,Niuhuang Jiangya Wan group, and Perilla- oil groups with doses of high(9.00 g/kg), middle(4.50 g/kg), low(2.25 g/kg) respec tively. Control group drank tap water while other groups drank 20 g/L saline eve ry day.Equal dose perrilla- oil was given to the three dose groups,Niuhuang Jia ngya Wan was given to Niuhuang Jiangya Wan group,and saline was given to control and model groups every day(administration by a stomach tube in all groups).Arte rial systolic
pressure and heart rate of rats in all groups were measured after 15 d. RESULTS: Systolic pressure of high and middle doses of perilla- oil groups a nd model group were ( 120.8± 11.6) , ( 123.3± 9.31) , and ( 141.7± 13. 7) mmHg respectively.Compared with the control group by F- test, blood pressur e of rats in high and middle doses groups had no significant difference(P=0.799, 0.506),but obviously lower than that of model group(P=0.007,0.018) and little in fluence on heart rate. CONCLUSION:Perilla- oil has the function of anti- hypertension.
