Objective To investigate the effect of Tongfuxingshen Liquid enema on brain coefficient and vascular permeability in brain of rats following intracerebral hemorrhage and provide the theoretical evidence of Tongfuxingshen Liquid enema in treating ICH. Methods Model rats of ICH induced by infusion of collagenase Ⅶ and thrombophob into the caudate-putamen were used to assay the brain coefficient and vascular permeability in different times in the model and the model treated with Tongfuxingshen Liquid enema and Tongfuxingshen Liquid taking orally. Results The changes of brain coefficient and vascular permeability in model group are different in different times. The data showed that brain coefficient and vascular permeability of model group was obvious on the third day, and higher in 5 days, drop in 7 days, that of enema group and take orally group was lower than model group in three time point, and Tongfuxingshen liquid enema could significant decrease the brain coefficient and vascular permeability in rats. Conclusion Tongfuxingshen liquid enema could decrease the brain coefficient and vascular permeability in rats following ICH.
