Effect of Flood Retention and Sediment Reductionwith Different Allocation System of Water and Soil C

Article Abstract by: TsingHua

Taking Huangfuchuan Basin of the sand-laden and coarse sand areas in the loess plateau as an example mainly, the effect of
flood retention and sediment reduction with different allocation system of water-soil conservation measures has been analyzed according to field observed data. The concept of "Measure allocation ratio" and "Basin harnessing effect related to typical allocation scheme of water-soil conservation harnessing measures" has been pointed out. The research result shows that if the allocation ratio of single measure is different, the effect of flood retention and sediment reduction of measure system will be different in the water-soil conservation harnessing measures system; when the allocation ratio of desilting dam is lower 2%, the benefit of sediment reduction of basin harnessing is small; if the controlling area of dam-reservoir is about 10% smaller than the total area of the basin, the controlling effect of basin harnessing measure system is not still obvious, though the harnessing degree of other measures is up to 45% or so, the mean precipitation of surface is larger than the storm flood with 35 mm and the maximum daily precipitation is larger than the storm flood with 50 mm.
