It is researched that the effects of sulphur contents in original melted spheroidal graphite cast iron containing same contents of trace elements arsenium, tin, lead and titanium on the suitable additions of rare earth elements and the effects of inoculant and inoculation method on the graphite spheroidization and the mechanical properties The results show that the optimum additions of rare earth elements in spheroidal graphite cast iron containing different contents of sulphur in the original melted should be 0005%, but the suitable range of rare earth elements addition level is reduced with the increase in contents of sulphur in the cast iron; an increase in sulphur contents aggravates harmful effects of the trace elements on mechanical properties of the cast iron, the harmful effects of sulphur on mechanical properties can not be completely and effectively neutralized by RE addition; strengthened inoculation is a effective way to weaken the harmful effects of trace elements and raise the mechanical properties
