Development of
atmospheric corrosion research in China in recent years was summarized. It included corrosion data accumulation
of 4 kinds of materials in 9 kinds of typical
atmospheric environments in China and atmospheric environment's effect on materials
atmospheric corrosion. The materials' characteristics were home made, commonly used, plentiful and forgoing.Prediction for atmospheric corrosion behavior of carbon steels and low alloy steels was studied. Especially power function relationship between atmospheric corrosion and corrosion time was established based on testing results of 8 years. Furthermore, mathematic mode on relationship between alloy element and corrosion depth was established. Evaluation of atmospheric corrosion astringency by adopting of ACM technology was discussed.Atmospheric corrosion database was established.Based on this, scientific data sharing was realized by developing network query technology.After more than 20 years' study, monograph, titled Material Corrosion in Natural Environment in China-Atmospheric Corrosion, was published and economic weathering steels was developed.
