A software system for measuring free from surface is introduced.The problems of generating the measuring program and evaluating
the profile error are discussed.In the generation of measuring program,for a single surface,the system only uses an unique probe for the reason of radial compersation,the radius of the probe is determined by the minimum radius of curvature of the inspected surface.The size of samples is determined according to the capability of machine tool,the precision level and the complexity of the surface.By means of the self adaptation sampling methed,the distribution of sampling points accords with that the more sampling points are distributed along the surface with greater curvature,and less points along minor curvature.In analyzing the measuring results,a concept of “The Best Match”is applied for evaluating the profile of a surface without requirement of datum in order to decide the position and direction of the nominal surface.The algorithm for implementing“The Best Match”is proviede also in this paper.
