The article introduces a method of
sensitivity analysis into the problem of the dynamic design for the main drive system
of the rolling mill.On the basis of the real modal analysis,the
sensitivity formulas are developed in detail for the natural frequencies and modes sensitivities corresponding to the mass or the stiffness.Depended on the formulas,the programme,which calculates the eigen sensitivity of the
main drive system of rolling mill,is programmed.The calculation and analysis are carried on for the main drive system of the 1700 cold rolling mill.It is discovered that the moment of interia of the supporting roller and working roller in the main drive system affects the fundamental frequency and mode of the system most seriously.The circular tooth coupling is second.From the values of the eigen sensitivity,it is given that the decrease of the moment of interia of the supporting roller and working roller or the circular tooth coupling can not only increase the fundamental frequency,but also improve the form of the mode in the system.By careful analysis,the physical modification for 1700 cold rolling mill in use is impractical.It is more significant if the sensitivity analysis is considered on the stage of design.
