Wireless tecnologies are a growing reality, each day in an even faster rate and are constantly getting more acceptance from
the public. The public, on the other hand, go from residential users to work environment users. wireless networks can vary in the srtucture model. Can be implemented in a more complex way, based on
stations interconnected by one or several access points or, in a more simple way, in which stations can intercommunicate on a point-by-point model. According to the way the network is configures, it still belongs to a technological pattern that makes it different from other wireless networks. Meaning, these are
technologies which may change depending on the amplitude of the signal, the velocity of the transmitor and even, the level of security of its composition. Starting from the concept of wireless technologies, this projecto will describe a brief summary of wireless Communication History; the transmission method; the WLAN structure and, last but not least, there will be a description of a project of how to configure a network without a point-by-point wire.
