F-16CJ FALCON WILD WEASEL
This specialized version of the F-16 can carry the ALQ-119 Electronic Jamming Pod for self protection. It became the sole
provider for Air Force Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD) missions when the F-4G Wild Weasel was retired from the Air Force inventory.
The SEAD mission has rested solely on the shoulders of the F-16 High-speed Antiradiation Missile (HARM) Targeting System. Although F-18s and EA-6Bs are HARM capable, the F-16 provides the ability to use the HARM in its most effective mode. This version first appeared in late 1990.
Since January, 2005, the CJ model has been upgraded with a number of features to improve its SEAD capabilities. These were the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, the targeting pod and the Link 16.
