SNAKE ROBOT - SENSOR BASED PLANNING
Developing practical mobile
robot systems that may be useful
in situations like detecting the future large scale earthquakes and
other catastrophic disasters.
In such situations snake like robots can skillfully move in the debris
of the collapsed buildings.
The man made machines ROBOTS are endowed with artificial intelligence
and sensors which can perform the actions of human beigns and animals.
Robots are developed using sensors . Snakes can move through rough
terrain, cross obstacles and move in rough space.
This inspired to build a snake like robot for the inspection of areas that are
difficult and dangerous to be accessed by human.
Pictures from camera at the robot's head are sent to a remote screen and
can be monitored by human operator.
This human operator can control only the robot's motion but not every single
part. So the operator will just give general directives and then the robot
shall able to follow autonomously the given directives.
This is semi- autonomous behavior of the snake robot.
The applications of these kinds of robots are mainly in space exploration,
disaster management , bomb disarmament, etc.
