COMPBIN-329
This project is present due to the result from an observation on public dustbins
which are overloaded even though there is still space in the dustbins. This causes the environment looked dirty, smelly and bring bad perception to others especially foreigners. This project is mainly to alert people when the dustbin is already full besides fill up the space so that more rubbish can be put inside the dustbin.
When a person throws in the rubbish, the system will automatically switch on. A photodiode will detect if the dustbin is already full. Once the dustbin is fully filled, a green coloured LED will turn to red colour. This results the power screw, which acts as a
compressor to
Compress the rubbish. However, if the base of the dustbin is not strong enough, the dustbin will tend to crush when it is compressed. Therefore, we put a strong metal plate at the bottom of the dustbin.
After the compressing process is done, the green LED will replace the colour of the red LED. If the dustbin is still full after it had been compressed, the red LED will remain its colour. So, the rubbish has to be discharged from the dustbin.
The contributions of this project are twofold. First, it can maximize the space, so that the dustbin can be filled with more rubbish. Besides that, it can also conserve man’s energy as they do not have to hardly compress the rubbish especially cans.
Smelly rubbish makes us feel disgust to compress them. This will cause the rubbish maximize the space in the dustbin. Therefore, we event a useful product to help people managing their rubbish. The product is called COMPBIN-329 OR compress bin. The dustbin is equipped with a compressor that can compress all kind of rubbish such as paper, can, and plastic. This product will help user to save their energy and time.
