We see new diets popping up daily . They are everywhere you shop . There's the no carbohydrate diet , no fat , low fat ,
non dairy . The list goes on and on . Advertisement of these diets are all over the grocery stores and internet . Many people have been sucked into at least one of these diet plans . It's very tempting with the promise of fast weight loss and lasting success . The same people who get sucked into such diets are the same people that fail time and time again . Do they ever wonder why ? As a teenager I practiced dieting many times to look beautiful and thin I decided to right this essay as a warning about the effects of dieting and to tell people the causes of long term dieting. There are many causes of dieting and long term effects of dieting of dieting are usually bad for the human body . Most typically, "dieting" means eating in a carefully planned way in an attempt to reduce excess body fat and decrease bodily measurements, such as clothing size. There exist a multitude of weight loss techniques, many of which are ineffective. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another, due to metabolic differences and lifestyle factors. The first reason diets fail is lifestyle . We are all busy people and we don’t always have time to prepare a well balanced cooked meal. There is a reason we see so many fast food restaurants . We are a society that rarely takes a break . We are busy with work , family , school , and play . We don’t always have time to prepare a lavish dinner with the correct portion size and carbon to protein ratio . The next reason diets fail is family . Kids have every basic palate . They enjoy hotdogs , macaroni , and cheese , and grilled cheese. They are not going to get very excited about grilled salmon with steamed vegetables . So that , while you are juggling work and family , you have to make two completely different meals . As we diet our bodies shut down and adjust to surviving on less energy and a metabolic rate , the rate at which we use up energy decreases . The more weight we loose , the less food we need . At a lower weight we may have to continue eating at least a bit less than we did when we where heavier . Also a significant weight loss leads to lethargy . So at the end of a diet we can't necessarily go back to eating as much as we did before , we can unwillingly make the situation even worse by losing weight too fast . If we loose weight at a rate of a pound or two a week , we are likely to loose mostly fat , but if we lose weight faster we are likely to lose water lean tissue or muscles as well as fat . This is important because our metabolic rate is determined by the amount of lean tissue we have , the lower our metabolic rate goes and the less we need to eat . Source : www.google.com A research that was done by Doctor Siah Sepid on November 1,2005 suggests that : another reason for dieting is that most women in advertising, movies , TV ,and sport programs are very thin . This may lead girls to think that the idea of beauty is to be slender . Boys too may try to emulate a media idea by drastically restricting their eating and compulsive exercising , or even taking steroids to have big muscles. Dieting changes the way we feel about our body . Men who had no previous concerns with their appearance and weight began to experience changes in the way they perceived their bodies . Several men complained about feeling overweight even though they had lost weight and they began to experience critical evaluations of their body shape and sizes . Source : www.ask.com According to doctor Adipex Kennet research result on March 19, 2002 a t the end of the dieting period the men's personalities reverted to normal , however many of dieters continued to have problem's with eating . Even though they were allowed to eat as they wanted . Many of dieters found that they could not stop eating when they were fulland generally ate more than they taught they wanted or was good for the dieters . Dieters continued to be preoccupied with food and some dieters reported that their cravings were even worse than before . Many had cravings for specific food such as sweet dairy products and nuts . There are many effects of dieting and these effects are Dizziness Sudden dizziness, and ear noises (ringing in the ear) are some of the most common diet side effects caused by a temporary nutritional unbalance from excessive dieting. Recovery is easy if healthy eating habits are resumed, but a continued poor diet can have a fatal effect on health. The other effects of dieting are Helplessness, Depression. ,
