Benefits of tooth whitening

The first and the best part of anyone’s face noticeable is no doubt his/ her smile. A perfect smile can give you a lot of confidence but if your teeth are stained then the same thing can be a cause for low self-confidence. Everyone wants a perfect smile with sparkling white teeth. So tooth whitening can be a solution for this.

So lets see how to do this so that you get a confidence of bright white smile!
The first step should be to consult a dentist so that he can do normal check-up to find out the intensity of stains or any oral problems. The stains are removed and then whitening is done accordingly.
Tooth whitening can be basically done in following ways

Professionally supervised and in office procedures
Peroxide agents are generally used here. Peroxide in trays or directly applied to teeth.

At home – using a customized tray system: At-home teeth’s bleaching typically requires performing whitening treatments each day over a series of weeks. This can improve up to six shades with long lasting results. The only thing here required is to comply with the technique and instructions of the whitening system. The person must have time and patience to perform the whitening and above all it costs less than the dental office treatment.
Dental office – In professionally supervised teeth whitening results are achieved quickly as compared to at home procedure but then the cost is higher.

Direct response/TV – These contain a range of concentrations of peroxide. Many use trays and some other methods. Effectiveness depends on the product some of them may contain acids which may damage soft tissues and teeth. The result may not be that good because stains are not removed in these methods.

Over the counter limited use products – Whitening strips and paint-on solutions are also available which are safe for maintaining professionally delivered results. But if you have colored fillings you cannot use them, as they will be seen when you smile. Similarly, it is true for these products also that they will not achieve dramatic results because stains are not removed first.

Over the counter daily use products

Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Dental floss
Mouth rinse
Chewing gum
These are used for mechanical removal of surface stains. The use of these can be to maintain the results of professional teeth whitening.
