Computers
A computer is a machine for manipulating data according to a list of instructions known as a program.
Computers
are universal information
processing machines.
The discovery of numbers, which is considered as the greatest achievement of mankind led to the development of all kinds of calculating devices. Today we can't imagine a work without numbers. It took thousands of years to get the present system of the numbers. Its development passed through several stages.
The stone man used pebbles for counting people or animals . Stone was replaced by sticks on a rope. All these computing techniques required some physical effect from man. A lot of work required for large calculation and the process was very slow. Later these scratches and symbols were replaced by the present number system. Number system found its uses in astronomy building temples and churches and calculating areas. The discovery of zero by Indian mathematicians laid the foundation stone for numeric system.
Computers are available in many physical forms. The original computers were the size of a large room, and such enormous computing facilities still exist for specialized scientific computation — supercomputers — and for the transaction processing requirements of large companies, generally called mainframes. Smaller computers for individual use, called personal computers, and their portable equivalent, the laptop computer, are information-processing and communication tools and are perhaps what most non-experts think of as a computer. However, the most common form of computer in use today is the embedded computer, small computers used to control another device. Embedded computers control machines from fighter planes to digital cameras.
Internet access is arguably the best form of computer innovations. Students and teachers alike can use the internet to do research. Researching on the internet is easy and enables one to access many things that they could not with conventional means. Furthermore teachers and students can use it to communicate or to send papers. As you can see computers are an excellent tool to help in education and learning. There are no boundaries to what computers can do.

They have changed the how student learn, study, and do assignments. Furthermore they have changed the way teachers teach. Every day in computers innovations are made that will improve how computers can be used by educators and students alike.
The most basic way that computers help students is through word processing. Through word processing programs like Claris Works and Microsoft Word students can access programs to edit, correct spelling errors, and much more. Programs can also be bought that will change writing into the MLA format. It also gives students the ability to be creative and add pictures, highlight, underline, and use different fonts.
In some classrooms the teachers use computers to compound what they teach. Computers can be used as projectors, to run programs, or simply to print out information quickly. Use of the internet is also now part of the modern classroom. There are many tutorial programs available. They are excellent in helping students their skills at home. These programs are for the most part affordable and have a wide range of topics. Many young children start using these even before entering school so that they are more prepared when they enter.
Hence there are many advantages of nowadays computers........Lifehas become more sophisticated with the use of these computers.
