THE TIME
MACHINE Time travel has always been a fantasy for us. We have come across a time machine in one of those H.G.Wells
novels and Hollywood movies. But is it true that traveling back in time is possible we never know for sure until the day we really travel time. Then we might be able to rectify all those mistakes we committed by traveling back in time or foresee future and be prepared for what is to come. What do we need to build a time
machine. First of all it has to fulfill some basic physics laws. in order to travel time it has to move at speed of light. But according to physics its impossible for a particle or object with mass to travel at speeds of light. The first step itself seems to be a problem. But think that we some how overcome this problem and build a time machine. Then what would happen if we alter the past. Will it change the entire history of our life. Will all history books have to be rewritten. Sounds bizarre isn’t it. But there is an explanation available in the form of parallax theory. It says that there are a number of parallel universes existing in parallel to each other and once we travel back in time we end up landing in another universe instead of ours. It means that what ever changes we make to our past will affect only the history of the universe we landed and not the history of the universe we belong to. Little hard to believe but scientists do believe that this concept is true. Does our human race have the technology needed for building time machine and do we have the equipments needed. May be we don’t need any. Scientists have found a mind blowing idea to travel time. The answer lies in the all mysterious black holes. A black hole is nothing but a massive collapsed star that engulfs everything coming its way. The space around a black hole rotates at tremendous speeds almost equal to that of speed of light. According to Einstein time and space are interwoven. It means that along with space time also travels at speeds equal to that of light. Suppose if we enter that
rotating space we also would travel along with it and travel along with rotating space and time. It means that we would end up in some time in the past. We might even see our own entry into the black hole as we are in the past. Lets think of a interesting possibility. You travel back in time and see your own entry into the black hole. What if you had a missile and fired at your own ship before entering the black hole. Would you still be standing in the past or would you have destroyed yourself ?. parallax theory gives an answer. As we are in past we are entering the dimension of another universe. From there its not possible to make any changes to the real universe of ours. So simply the missile we launched would miss its target. Even though this idea of time travel via black holes seems to be a possibility it has lot of practical impossibilities. The nearest black holes is hundreds of light years away. Not easy to travel such a far distance. Also the gravity around it is highly intense highly intense that it would shred us and our space craft into bits. So is there any other way to travel time. Perhaps there is a way. Why should we travel to a black hole for rotating space. How about creating an apparatus that can rotate space and time. Scientists are working on this idea. Modern day lasers are so powerful and they can be used for this purpose. By arranging beams of highly intense laser in a swirling pattern its it is possible to create a region of rotating space that is needed for time travel. This would create a time tunnel between the past and the future. We can travel to the future and also return back. This is similar to wormholes in our universe. These are tunnels that connect the two regions of universe.
