Life as a biological fact arises from the multi-stratified and simultaneous pairing of elements (water, air, fire, earth)
in what could be referred to as the "basic rituals of a molecular encounter". In this elemental dance, cooperation and constitutive recurrence are the necessary steps for every process of self-organized enclosure. Relationships defining the organized living system are preserved, changing the structural expressive dimensions that maintain the "living being-
environment" relational dynamic at optimum level. Wherever a molecular ritual has arisen which has become sufficiently repetitive in a context that is part of the constitutive conditions for this
phenomenon, a living entity appears, with the environment as its background. In this process, as is evident, the domain of existence does not exist prior to the living unit, but rather emerges with it. Maturana and Varela name this recursive capture of the "environment in the environment" in a membranal perimeter "autopoiesis", i.e., self-formation, a phenomenon of selectively dissipative informational isolation by which the energy of the elements is incorporated within the autopoietic metabolism, while the information inside the living entity remains determined by its structure, thus generating the interpretative phenomenon as an action or an instance of knowledge that closes the gap betwen the state of the living entity or "information level or interpretative capacity" and the energetic and relational matrix of the environment, which in this way becomes the provider of energy and relational disturbances. Furthermore, these two biologists, by producing an explanatory framework that recognizes the organization of the living being, suggest that human knowledge is also informationally closed according to the organizational patterns of the living being. The world in which we live is literally brought to us out of "nothingness" without a medium that makes or creates life. It might be suggested that the environment as a provider of energy and relational disturbance specifies that the typology of relational configurations of the activity of organisms make possible, on the one hand, the self-formative isolation of the living entity and, on the other, the history of (energetic) exchanges in a space referred to as the "structural adjustment" space. Knowledge is therefore a life process on the planet. Every living being makes and knows by living in its domain of existence or its "relational niche". In this relational niche, its domain of existence, arise processes of detection, preservation and exchange of relational configurations the history, identity and psychic space of every living being. The Tree of Knowledge is a fractal tree that has its roots in the organization of life and its leaves and fruit in the process of human and non-human consciousness and self-awareness, where the "operational closure" is preserved as a recursively configurational dynamic. Nothing occurs in life that occurs outside biology. All meaning arises in it and from it as a creation of self-sustained creatures; we are no exception. Our worlds, the entire homosphere, is a meeting of cultural beings in structural adjustment, structurally determined beings, ritualized within their constitutive processes, interpreters of a biospheric cycle in which matter, energy, consciousness, self-awareness, identity, history, changes and preservations make up the unique phenomenon that we know as life.Dr. Mario Latorre Q.
