During the past forty years , investigators , scientists , botanists , chemists , and pharmacists aggressively pursued the
potentials of active compounds in plants . With the cooperation of academic institutions , government agiencies , and
pharmaceutical companies , have shown an sincere insight of " miracle drugs " from the Plant Kingdom . Symposiums and meetings sponsored by pharmaceutical institutions and private
organizations played a major role in searching for the " new antibiotic " of plant origin that will connect a decisive impact against infectious diseases . Aware of the communicable diseases responsible for over one half of all pathological complications : i.e., malaria , measles , diarrhea , and mumps ( in addition to water and food borne parasites ) the scientists and specialists combined a plan to create a unit consisting of indigenous tribal communities , ethnobotanical , pharmaceutical , dietetic , and anthropological organizations that would share in the discoveries of the phytodynamic constituents of the plant kingdom .
