My project is , How do oil spills affect
marine life? It is mainly about how oilaffects marine life in the ocean. It talks
about the bad and good sides of oil spills. My purpose for this
project, is to explore how oil spills affect marine life. It would give me an idea of how the
animals feel when there ocean is being polluted. The problems i have are, Why do sea animals get hurt from oil spills? Is there a way to stop oil spills? How can we help attacked sea creatures?
My hypothesis are, I think animals in the sea get hurt from oil spills because it clogs up there air and makes them heavier which causes them to slow down. I think there may never be a way to prevent oil spills because it is very hard to keep those things controlled. I think we can help attacked sea creatures by keeping them away from the oil tanks and making a special pathway for the oil tanks.
For my procedure, i basically use big bowls, measuring spoons, water and all the nessasary needs for doing a science fair project. In the method, i fill up the bowl with water, and cut out sponges into the water. I record for the next two weeks and see how my project goes from there.
My results and conclusion is that my hypothesiss were partially correct and did have some affect to what my project was about. The resluts lead to my conclusion by saying oil spills affect marine life, by hurting them and causing thousands od marine life to die each and every year. The controls used were the bowl full of water, and the sponge fish.
