Take about 1 kg of fresh
gooseberries, wash them and dry them with a clean dry cloth. Keep these Gooseberries in one of the
vessels used in the cooker and steam boil them, (i.e. don’t add any water to the vessel containing
gooseberries, but only pour water in the cooker) under pressure, till you get two cooker whistles. Remove these cooked gooseberries and with the help of a knife separate fleshy part and the seeds, normally you get six pieces from each fruit. Dissolve about 250 gm – 300 gm of sugar in clean water and a little salt to taste to this syrup. Then soak these pieces in this syrup for about 15 – 18 hours. After that, separate the pieces from the syrup and dry them in sun for 3 to 4 days. Your yummy Gooseberry munchies are ready! You can munch about 6 to 12 pieces a day to keep your self healthy and fit!
