MECHANICS OF FLUIDFluid is a substance, which has ability to
flow. example of
FLUID are liquid fluid and gaseous fluid .The liquid fluid are petrol ,diesel,kerocene,water,oil where as gaseous fluid are air, carbon dioxide, ethane methane,lpg,biogas etc.
MECHANICS of fluid can be broadly classified as fluid
static and fluid
dynamics.fliud static deals with study of fluid at rest or stored condition.fliud dynamics deals with study of fluid in motion considering various forces acting on fluid. The topics comes under fluid static are hydrostatics forces acting on surfaces, bouncy and floatation,etc.The topics under fluid dynamics are kinematics of fluid flow, laminar and turbulent flow, flow through pipes,boundry layer
concept etc.To understand the knowledge of mechanics of fluid one must know the concept of mathematics like integration,differtation,numerical methods,differtial equation,forier tronform,z tronsform,complex variable etc.Mechanics of fluid concept is applied for piping designing in boiler operated plant, steam power plant, chemical procesesining plant, dam structer,civil irrigation plant, water treatment plant,alcohal extraction plant .this concept is also applicable for
modeling and prototyping of turbines,pumps,compressor,refrigeration plant,airconditing plant. mass transfer and heat transfer phenomena are also related to mechanics of fluid .It is important in condensation and boiling phenomena. Dimensional analysis is an important concept in mechanics of fluid which can be used for modeling and prototyping of various fluid related machinery design and development. In short mechanics of fluid is an important concept in study of science.With the knowledge of mechaics of fluid one can not study science as well as engineering.
