Revolutionary Math...
this brand new principle has just been discovered and is now being taught all
over the world
Its easy when the
multiplier ends in zero and it does work for all
numbers - at least the ones I tried. Once the mountain is complete you have to work from the bottom up to get the result.
For example... if the problem is 384337 x 30 the the mountain numbers (from the top) are 9, 24, 12, 9, 9 and 21.
Now work right to left and add the numbers as if you were doing long addition. Use the zero from the multiplier first, then the
one from the 21 and carry the 2, then the 9 2 = 11 so use the 1 and carry the one and so on to get 11530110.
If the multiplier is something that does not end in zero the it gets more complicated. You have to build the mountain the same as in the video and then build a mirror image of the mountain underneath it using the second digit of the multiplier. Adding the result
up to get the final number is tricky as well.
I hardly think this is easier than the traditional method.
