Hopping and skipping and bouncing along, over the hills and through the trees, the little lambs relish the freedom and peace of the outdoors in nature. God calls His little
children His lambs. What a sweet, fitting comparison. The lamb is small and adorable to behold, so soft and cuddly and so dependable. They always want to be by your side and see what you are doing and go where you are going. The children want to make the bread and sweep the floor and cut their hair and dig the garden and water everything.
Is that the way our children are? Here in this world the dangers are lurking on every hand even in the beauties of the wilderness. Up the mountain trail and one slip of the foot could send you to your death. Or if you made a mistake in the kind of mushrooms you found, you could be very sick. What if you meet a bear in the berry patch or even under the apple tree. If you are in the canoe do you have a jacket on to keep you floating, should you capsize. Do you have the proper food and enough to feed you till you get back to camp or home or to a store. What if a creature comes and tears down your tent while you are sleeping? If it gets cold do you have proper clothing? There are mountain lions to be aware of too.It is up to us to be cautious of where each other are so you don’t bump into each other. Make a certain amount of noise to alert the animals so you don’t surprise each other. Take each step carefully so you don’t stumble and make rocks roll down the hill or the trail to hit somebody below. What do you think about when you see the vast forest and the endless ocean? Do you feel great big and
powerful ? When you see a miniature
flower do you feel like trampling on it. Just think, God took His important time to
form that flower in its individual intricate loveliness. God used His limitless majestic power to form this tiny delicate piece of beauty. Many of these
flowers only last a short space of time but it’s all in God’s plan to have these flowers for Him and us to enjoy. And do I enjoy the flowers!! I could look at flowers to no end!! They are awesome to behold. There is nothing in this world as perfect and beautiful as a flower fresh from God’s all-powerful hand. He wants the hopping, skipping children to stop for a minute and take a peek at His special formula for making a flower. Are you going to say thank you Dear Jesus for the lovely flowers.
